Expensive Hardware
One example of jamming is interference of the signal between a drone and its pilot. Another type of jamming is interference between a drone and a GPS-satellite. Although there exists equipment that helps prevent GPS-jamming, it does not come cheap. Another challenge with GPS-navigation is that you have to know the coordinates of your target ahead of time and it has to be stationary.
Secondly, hardware components for defense applications are expensive. Each component is subject to rigorous testing and tough requirements. The western defense industry has been characterized by bespoke components, low volumes and minimal inventory.
